Centro Asturiano de Tampa Wedding | Ashley & Jay
Tampa is home to quite a number of historic venues, and I’m certain these spaces have stories to tell! One of them is Centro Asturiano de Tampa. It was once a social club that “took care of members from birth until after they died,” and today it has been transformed into a venue for weddings and events. Much of the original architecture of the space has remained, and it’s on display the most in the theatre and ballroom. Both spaces happen to be where Ashley and Jay hosted their wedding day!
Before their ceremony was underway and they were set to recite their vows, Ashley and Jay spent their days prepping separately. He laughed with the gents, and she enjoyed hair and makeup with her bridesmaids and family. Then it was time for Ashley +Jay to meet at the top of the aisle inside the theatre for their ceremony. Ashley is actually a police officer and her "ring bearer" was her partner at work. If you’re wondering why he’s carrying a Pooh Bear instead of a flower basket, it’s because Pooh is her absolute favorite! We thought this was such a special, personal touch! Ashely and Jay aren’t really the “traditional” type and you can really tell that by the personalized touches they included!
We have to note how much we loved the space! Red velvet seats are placed throughout, and the dark backdrop offered such a dramatic touch. Then Ashley and Jay’s gold geometric arch complete with blooms was placed against the dark backdrop, and the full look was so striking! I’m certain Ashley and Jay completely enjoyed becoming a married pair with this look behind them and their friends and family looking on.
When they were planning their celebration, Ashley and Jay were inspired by their venue and their ivory, jade, light pink, merlot, and rose gold color palette. And both details continued to define their reception space in the ballroom. Plus, guests had plenty to experience as Ashley, Jay, and their wedding party entered the space for the night! Dining, speeches, and dances were on the agenda.
Ashley and Jay, your wedding day was unforgettable and so thoughtfully planned. As you approach your first anniversary, I hope you’re still thinking back to the day you wed in order to relive every moment.
