Robin, Hayden’s mom, reached out to me about capturing Hayden’s surprise proposal to Casey on the beach. From our conversations, it was clear how special and amazing this couple is. Proposals are one of my absolute favorite moments to photograph. It’s such a pivotal event in a couple’s journey, and I love being part of the planning process to ensure the best surprise.

Hayden and I meticulously planned the proposal, knowing it would be a challenge to surprise Casey. He devised a clever plan to have her spend the weekend at Clearwater Beach with her best friend for her birthday, with the cover story that he would join them later. Little did Casey know, Hayden was planning to ask her to marry him! Hayden had a custom engraved ring box with a stunning diamond ring inside.

I love having a good plan but always stay flexible because each proposal unfolds uniquely and beautifully. The trickiest part is staying hidden to avoid spoiling the surprise while capturing the perfect moment. As Casey walked down the beach to meet Hayden, she had no idea what was about to happen. They both work at Disney, and she thought I was just a random photographer trying to sell beach photos—perfect for maintaining the surprise! When he got down on one knee, Casey was completely surprised and, of course, said yes!

They even had a little cheering squad in the water that creeped over after Hayden proposed. Then I just lef them do their thing and so many candid, joyful, and romantic moments.
